March 19th, 4:09 pm, Sam Zaber (SPC:CA): Today marks a truly sad, and often ignored, anniversary in American History. It was this day six years ago that then President George W. Bush launched the Invasion of Iraq. The war has been a drastic failure; from no matter which angle you look at it this Invasion is one of America’s biggest marks of shame, from the economic stand point this Invasion has been a waste of needed money (many predict it will cost 3 trillion dollars by the end), from the political point of view this Invasion has seriously hurt America’s standing in the eye’s of many other nations, but most importantly the Invasion has taken the lives of at least 62,303 humans (numbers taken from http://www.icasualties.org and compiled by myself). For six years this Invasion (it is not a war since the decision to go to war rests solely with Congress and not the President) has gone on and we say- These six years were six years to many and it is time to form a new strategy in Iraq. One that focuses on building Peace and not creating chaos.
